“Only those who will risk going too far
can possibly find out how far they can go”
- T.S. Elliot
A little about my Work:
I have worked with a clientele varying in ages from 11 to 75 and am comfortable assisting clients with issues such as sadness, depression, anxiety, anger & fighting, feeling stuck, being unhappy, arguing, feeling shut down or shut out.
A little about Me:
I was born in Sweden but have lived in the US for more than 20 years and define myself as bi-cultural as I have lived with a foot in each country most of my life. I have moved around quite a bit and have lived in five different countries, 4 different states and many different cities. In my travels, I have discovered that we have more in common with each other than we think. As a young child, I learned to be curious and appreciate the people around me. I found that even though they may speak a different language or have a different culture, they all want to be loved, heard and cared for. This curiosity propelled me to first study political science and history at the University of California at Berkeley, where I graduated with a double major in 2000. After spending some years traveling, teaching English as a foreign language, and working with asylum and refugee applicants in Sweden, I came to Vermont in 2014. It was here that my calling to help people really took hold, and I enrolled in Northern Vermont University’s Masters program to obtain my degree in Mental Health Counseling. While pursuing my degree, I also worked at a local community mental health clinic where I assisted people with significant mental health issues.
I love to ski and hike with my kids and cook crazy fun Swedish foods for people too.
How I can help You:
I believe that, through my own experiences of loss and my extensive history of moving, connecting and exploring, I can be a helpful and comforting guide to my clients as they explore deeper questions about themselves; who they are, what motivates them, and where they would like to be. I truly believe that every individual has all the answers they need within themselves, I just provide a space where we can figure out what those answers are together.
